  • Through Labour Relations the department will negotiate collective bargaining agreements and provide advice, assistance and interpretation of the collective agreements, applicable policy and legislation. One of the main roles is to establish systems and rules that promote an effective and efficient unionized work place.
  • The area of compensation encompasses the maintenance of job descriptions for positions, evaluation of comparison market data and evaluation of other municipalities collective agreements.
  • The Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities are to ensure that the City is in compliance with that WCB health and safety guidelines and to provided managers and employees with the knowledge for the requirements of a safe workplace.
