What's in the Guide

You can find details of the City of Campbell River's recreation and fitness programs, special events and other activities in our Recreation Guide. We publish the Recreation Guide three times a year: fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Registration for summer programs opens on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10 a.m.

How to Register

You can register and pay for recreation programs online, through our Recreation in Campbell River app, in person at the Campbell River Community Centre or Sportsplex, or over the phone.

Program registrations are first-come, first-served.

Register Online

Before you can register for programs online, you'll need to create an account. All you need to create an account is your full name, email and phone number, date of birth and address.

Once you're registered, you can begin signing up and paying for programs online. Make sure you are logged in, and then you can go to Schedules, to see current activities. Schedules will also show you a calendar of activities you are currently enrolled in. When you find a program you're interested in, select 'Book Now' to begin the registration process.

The program you are interested in may not have an option to book now. If your program just has 'More Information', then you don't need to pre-register. 'More Information' will give you details on the drop-in fees. If your program says Waitlist, then it's currently full. You can join the waitlist, and we'll let you know if a spot opens up.

Book Drop-In Programs and Classes

Popular drop-in classes and programs often fill up during peak times. That’s why we offer a streamlined booking window for all drop-in fitness, sport, courts and after-school programs. The booking window opens one day—exactly 25 hours—before the drop-in activity begins.

The 25-hour advance booking window applies to

  • Sport programs, including pickleball, badminton, soft tennis and family badminton
  • Fitness classes, such as tabata, Pump It Up, yoga and spin
  • After school programs (the day-to-day drop-in programs only, not the registered program for bookings of an entire month at a time)
  • Racquetball, squash and wallyball courts

Make your booking online or using the Recreation in Campbell River app

You will still need to check in at the front desk when you arrive for your drop-in class or program. If you have a membership, please scan your physical or digital membership card when you check in.

Booking in advance helps secure your spot and reduce the risk of a drop-in class filling up before you arrive, but it isn’t necessary to attend a class. We welcome drop-in participants. If you have not booked a spot online, arrive 15 minutes early to scan your card and get ready for your class or program.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your registration for a class or program, we can help you out. Please call 250-286-1161 (Community Centre), 250-923-7911 (Sportsplex) or email recandculture@campbellriver.ca to cancel.

  • Registered programs need 72 hours' notice for cancellations.
  • Booked spots for drop-in classes and programs cannot be cancelled. If you do not attend a booked drop-in activity, it will be considered a no-show.

If you don't cancel and don't show up for your program, you will be charged full admission. We do not offer refunds for missed programs. If you registered using a visit-based pass, one visit will be taken off your membership if you don't attend or do not provide adequate notice.

If you do not show up for your booked drop-in program or class and you used a 10-visit or LIFE membership to book, you will be docked one visit. If you used a monthly or yearly pass, you will be charged a drop-in visit fee.

For sports courts, you can cancel up to one hour before your booked time by phone, or a time-stamped email in our inbox (recandculture@campbellriver.ca). If not, charges will be applied to your membership.

If a program you registered for is cancelled, you will be issued a refund. If you haven't received your refund, please email us at recandculture@campbellriver.ca, or call us at 250-286-1161 (Community Centre) or 250-923-7911 (Sportsplex).
