    Campbell River Fire Department Responds to Wildfire South of the Community

    At approximately 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2025, the City of Campbell River Fire Department responded to a report of fire by Woods Creek in the south end of the community. 

    Approximately 30 firefighters responded on May 11, and 20 remain on scene on May 12, 2025. The approximately 3.5-hectare wildfire is under control and not projected to spread beyond the current perimeter. No injuries were reported.

    The City Fire Department is working alongside BC Wildfire Service with support from the Oyster River Fire Department and Mosaic Forest Management. 

    The City advises the public to stay away from the area and to follow directions from the City staff and emergency services personnel on-site.
