TEMPORARY BIKE LANE ON PIER STREET TO KICK OFF GO BY BIKE WEEK

The City of Campbell River (the City) is excited to bring back a temporary bike lane on Pier Street (Highway 19A), between the Maritime Heritage Centre and the crosswalk at Robert Ostler Park, in recognition of the start of Go By Bike Week.

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the parking lane on the water side of Pier Street will be converted into a two-way bike lane with temporary delineators. The temporary bike lane will connect the existing bike lane on Highway 19A to the south and help bring cyclists downtown more safely. The River City Cycle Club will offer free bike parking downtown to further encourage cyclists.

The City will also set this temporary bike lane up for Loop Day on Sunday, June 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, July 1, for Canada Day, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
