    ELLE BROVOLD APPOINTED ACTING CITY MANAGER

    ELLE BROVOLD APPOINTED ACTING CITY MANAGER - DECEMBER 2022
    Following the recent announcement of City Manager Deborah Sargent’s retirement, the City is pleased to announce that Elle Brovold, Director of Community Planning and Livability, has been appointed and accepted the position of Acting City Manager, effective December 16, 2022.

    “On behalf of myself and Council, I would like to congratulate Elle Brovold on her new appointment as Acting City Manager. We are thrilled that Elle had the confidence in this Council and the courage to take on this role,” says City of Campbell River Mayor Kermit Dahl. “Thank you to Deborah for her many years of service with the City of Campbell River and local governments across Canada; we all wish you well in your next chapter.”

    Elle started her career in local government in 2006. In 2014 she joined the City of Campbell River as the Property Manager before moving into the Legislative Services Manager/Corporate Officer position in 2018. Elle earned the role of Director of Community Planning & Livability earlier this year.

    “Thank you to Mayor and Council for the opportunity to step into the Acting City Manager role,” says Elle Brovold, Director of Community Planning and Livability. “I have been a part of this community and the City of Campbell River team for many years now. It is a privilege to take on this role and help guide the City through the changes that a new council brings. I look forward to connecting with residents, staff and partners as we move into 2023.”

    The process to fill the City Manager role permanently is underway. While Council continues its search, Elle Brovold will assume the Acting City Manager role from December 16, 2022, until the position is filled. During this time, Elle will continue to carry out her duties as the Director of Community Planning & Livability.
