    Update on public health order enforcement

    Local businesses are overwhelmingly following the rules when it comes to public health requirements during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    “Following the provincial public health orders, Island Health environmental health officers are conducting compliance checks on restaurants, cafes and grocery stores and have indicated a high level of cooperation with these orders,” says city manager Deborah Sargent. “The City’s bylaw officers are helping with enforcement, and our economic development office is working to help other businesses adapt to stay open where possible.”  more...
