The Downtown Small Initiatives Program is a series of quick-to-complete projects in the City of Campbell River's downtown. These projects enhance the look and feel of the street and bring vibrancy and activity to the downtown. This program is a vital component of the City's downtown revitalization efforts, helping with place-making and street activation projects.
This program uses the downtown boundary established in Refresh Downtown. This includes the Civic, Cedar, Cultural and Waterfront districts. See the Refresh Downtown map for an illustration of this boundary:

By installing parklets and sidewalk bistro seating, we helped create spaces people can stop and enjoy:

We wanted to bring more people downtown and provide additional food options in the downtown core, so we created the Food Truck Program.

We accept applications to operate food trucks at the following downtown and water front locations:
Spirit Square
Rotary Beach Park
Ken Forde Park
Rockland Road parking lot
Maritime Heritage Centre parking lot
Big Rock Boat Ramp overflow parking lot
You may also operate your food truck at certain other locations for events. These locations must be booked through the City. Learn more:
