Residents of the City of Campbell River elected the current Council in October 2022. City Council is made up of the Mayor and six councillors. Together, Council works to establish policies and adopt bylaws for the City.

Please note, that correspondence addressed “to Mayor and Council” may be placed on a Council meeting agenda. This is at the discretion of the Corporate Officer.

Correspondence related to operational matters are not placed on meeting agendas. City staff will respond to these. However, if the correspondence is addressed to Council, a copy will be made available to all Council members.

Appointments

Members of Council are appointed to different boards, commissions, committees and community organizations. For internal and external boards and committees, the Mayor appoints council members. For Strathcona Regional District (SRD) boards and committees, SRD appoints council members.

Council's Strategic Plan

Council's Strategic Plan is a road map for Council. It helps Council make decisions that align with the vision for the future of Campbell River.

Council adopted the current Strategic Plan in January 2023. This plan outlines strategic priorities for 2023 to 2026. The current strategic priorities are:
