River Concerts: The Sharp Seven

The Sharp Seven began when Greg Bush brought together musicians from the Comox Valley and students from Vancouver Island University after jazz vocalist Ralph Barrat shared his dream of singing with a big band. With original arrangements by Greg Bush and Troy Jakubiec, the group developed a distinctive sound blending big-band richness with small-ensemble chemistry. After celebrating its 10th anniversary, Ralph stepped away, but the band continued performing. Today the lineup features Paul Nuez, Grahame Edwards, Michael Eddy, Jack Reynolds, Beau Stocker, Dave Lymburner, and vocalist Mel McCutcheon, carrying The Sharp seven into its next chapter.
