Summer is almost here and the City of Campbell River‘s Summer 2026 Recreation Guide is packed with ways to play, move, and connect throughout the community from June through August.
The guide is available now at campbellriver.ca/recreation-guide. Registration opens at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2026 and can be completed online at campbellriver.ca/registration, through the City’s new Recreation in Campbell River app which can be downloaded via campbellriver.ca/recreation-app, in person at the Community Centre or Sportsplex, or by calling 250-286-1161 or 250-923-7911.
This summer’s Recreation lineup has something for everyone:
- Soccer by the Sea
Join us on June 18 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Robron Athletic Park to watch Canada vs. Qatar in the FIFA World Cup 2026™ on the big screen, with family-friendly activities and a lively game-day atmosphere. - Kids Summer Day Camps
Creative, active, and full of adventure—our popular camps are back with new experiences, new friends, and unforgettable summer memories. - The Colorful Run returns!
Grab your friends, wear white, and walk, run, or dance your way through an explosion of colour. Joyful, messy, and wildly fun—this fan favourite from last year is back by popular demand.
While many programs take place at the Community Centre and Sportsplex, our summer fun goes well beyond these facilities, with free live music and dance lessons at Spirit Square, the opening of Centennial Outdoor Pool with free youth swims all summer, and Yoga in the Park at Robert Ostler Park.
CR Live Streets is back!
Downtown comes alive for seven Wednesday nights on Shoppers Row, from July 8 to August 19, with live music, kids activities, snacks and beverages for purchase, free bike valet, and unbeatable community vibes. The fun starts early this year with a special Canada Day kickoff on July 1, featuring iconic Canadian rock band Trooper at Robert Ostler Park, presented through CR Live Streets programming in partnership with the Canada Day Committee. The CR Live Streets event series is delivered by the City of Campbell River in partnership with the Tidemark Theatre Society.
The City’s Recreation and Culture team looks forward to welcoming everyone to another incredible summer. Learn more at campbellriver.ca/recreation and follow facebook.com/Campbellriverrec for the latest programs, events, and updates.
