Public notice is hereby given as follows: 

Notice of Nomination 

Nominations for the offices of: Mayor – One (1) and Councillors - Six (6) to be elected for a term ending October 2030 will be received by the Chief Election Officer or a designated person, from 9 a.m. on September 1, to 4 p.m. on September 11, 2026, as follows:

  • By hand, mail or other delivery service:

Interested persons can obtain information about the requirements and procedures for making nominations and request nomination forms at campbellriver.ca/elections  or from City Hall Reception during office hours until the nomination period closes on September 11 at 4 p.m. 

No nominations will be accepted before 9 a.m. on September 1 or after 4 p.m. on September 11, 2026, by any means. 

Qualifications for Local Government Office 

A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they 
meet the following criteria: 

  • Canadian citizen; 
  • 18 years of age or older on general voting day, October 17, 2026; 
  • Resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed; 
  • Not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law. 

Campaign Period Expense Limits 

In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local election, 
the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply: 

  • Mayor: $34,278.59
  • Councillor: $17,282.87 

Third Party Advertising Limits 

In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2026 general local elections, 
the following third-party advertising limits apply: 

  • Directed third party advertising limit: $1,713.93 (Mayor and Councillor)
  • Cumulative third-party advertising limit: $184,856.70
