Proposal
The proposed bylaw would replace the City of Campbell River’s current Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 3475, 2012 with the proposed Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 4022, 2026.
The Official Community Plan applies to the entire municipality and sets out a renewed, long-term vision for Campbell River’s future. It includes updated land use designations and community policies to guide growth and development over the next 20 years.
The update reflects current community priorities, evolving economic conditions, and anticipated population growth. The proposed bylaw provides a comprehensive framework to manage growth and support the long-term livability, resilience, and economic vitality of Campbell River.
Public Hearing Details
A public hearing will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Council Chambers at 301 St. Ann’s Road. To register to speak at the public hearing, or for more information, contact the Legislative Services Department at front.reception@campbellriver.ca or 250-286-5700.
Written Submissions
Written submissions must quote file number P2500009 and may be submitted to the Long Range Planning Department at City Hall or by email at communityplanning@campbellriver.ca.
Submission deadlines are as follows:
Written submissions received by 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, will be included in the Council Agenda Package and will form part of the Public Hearing record.
Written submissions received after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and before the close of the Public Hearing, will be provided to Council at the Public Hearing and will form part of the Public Hearing record.

A hard copy of the proposed Official Community Plan is available for viewing at City Hall during regular business hours. The Public Hearing Package will also be available online at https://campbellriver.civicweb.net/ on July 17, 2026. A copy of the proposed Official Community Plan is also available at: www.getinvolved.campbellriver.ca/official-community-plan.
