You can request digital copies of specific file records from the City of Campbell River, for a fee. In order to make the request, you will have to submit an application and associated fees.
Process Overview
Submit your Property Record Request
In order to complete a request, you must be:
- The property owner
- An agent working on behalf of the owner
- Have signed permission of the owner
To begin the process, you must complete a Request Form and submit it to DevelopmentServices@campbellriver.ca.

Pay the Request Fee
Once you submit your request, staff will email you with an invoice and payment instructions. The City must receive payment within seven days of invoicing; otherwise, you will need to resubmit your request.

We do not begin processing your request until payment is confirmed. For electronic funds transfers (EFTs), it may take longer to confirm payment.
Processing your Request
It takes City staff three days to process your request. For large file requests, this time may be longer, closer to four or five business days. Once we have processed your request, we will email you available documents as PDFs via email.

You are able to request the following documents through a Property Record Request:
- Folder Details Report for all issued permits
- Building Plans for all issued permits
- Location Certificate signed by a BCLA professional related to specific building permits
- New Home Warranty
- Occupancy Certificate
- Engineering Service Card (utility locations)
If you are looking for a different or more detailed information from a property file, you will need to submit a Freedom of Information request.
