In response to the low overnight temperatures and continued winter weather in the forecast, the City of Campbell River is extending the activation of a warming centre at the Campbell River Community Centre (401-11th Avenue).
The warming centre will be open:
- 10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17 to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and
- 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18 to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2026
The warming centre is open to everyone for short-term stays and is a place for vulnerable populations to warm up, and be provided access to information on resources. The centre will be staffed by individuals experienced in supporting people experiencing homelessness.
Funding for the warming centre is provided by the Province through Emergency Management Climate Readiness, with additional support from the City.
Updates about this activation will be shared on the City’s website and social media channels.
