The Campbell River Sportsplex is a pre-engineered, multi use facility located in the Willow Point area of Campbell River which includes racquetball and squash courts, a weight room, a large gymnasium, activity rooms, kitchen, office space and related change and washroom facilities.
The building was constructed in 1993 and supports all of the outdoor sports fields and other activity spaces at the Willow Point Park. It has now reached the end of its service life and requires an extensive renovation.

The majority of the existing rooftop mechanical equipment is in need of upgrading and due to increased demand, the facility is in significant need of additional storage space.

RFP 19-37 for Sportsplex Consulting Services was awarded to Stantec Consulting Ltd for design.
Tender 21-62 was posted with results significantly exceeding the approved budget. As a result the City has negotiated a modified scope of work with the lowest priced, compliant tenderer Ketza Pacific Contracting Ltd.
The Sportsplex will be closed from May 1 - September 30, 2022, with the majority of the work to be completed during this time frame.
The project budget has been updated to $4.77 million with all funding in the approved 2022-2031 Capital Plan.
The project is being funded by the facilities reserve.

Due to the installation of the lighting system at Willow Point Park, the upper parking lot (off of Parkway) will be closed from September 12 until mid-October.
Disc golf holes 17 and 18 will be closed from September 7 until mid-October.
