Preconstruction cleaning commenced in October 2023. The liner installation is expected to complete by the end of 2023.

The final cost of this project is anticipated to be approximately 1.5m. Council approved the budget in the 2023 Capital Plan and the project is funded through sewer reserves.
Design has been completed by the City’s Capital Works and Liquid Waste Services Departments. RFP 19-14 was approved by City Council and awarded to Insituform Technologies Ltd.
Getting Around During Construction
Traffic management during construction will be the responsibility of the contractor doing the work. Until a contractor is selected, details of the traffic management plan are not finalized. It is expected that the affected roadways will be closed and will accommodate local traffic only.
Current Traffic Notifications
The City is completing sewer maintenance and rehabilitation work in various locations around Campbell River. Alder Street from 7th Avenue to Dubeau Street, Dogwood Street from 2nd Avenue to 7th Avenue, and Birch Street to Island Hwy from 1st Avenue to 4th Avenue will be affected.
Expect minor delays, Mondays to Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until October 20, 2023. Please follow all signage and traffic controls in place.

Preconstruction cleaning of the sewer mains has begun.
The City of Campbell River (the City) is completing sewer rehabilitation and maintenance in various locations around Campbell River from Thursday, November 9 to Sunday, December 10, 2023. Work will be completed from Birch Street to the Island Highway between 1st and 4th Avenue, as well as on Cedar Street from 2nd to 6th Avenue. Residence may experience minor delays during scheduled work, which will take place on Mondays to Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please follow all signage and traffic controls in place.
