    Wildfire smoke advisory information

    The Ministry of Environment and Island Health have issued a wildfire smoke advisory for the east and south coast of Vancouver Island from Campbell River to Victoria, including Port Alberni.

    Smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.This situation is expected to persist until weather conditions change.

    Avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Contact your health care provider if you are experiencing difficulty in breathing, chest pain or... discomfort, sudden onset of cough or irritation of airways.

    Exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and people with medical conditions such as diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
