Stewardship Awards

Campbell River is known for is its natural environment. Many individuals and groups dedicate time to reducing their ecological footprints and improving the city’s natural areas for the benefit of the community. For more than 20 years, from 2001 to 2023, the City of Campbell River Stewardship Awards Program recognized Campbell River residents for their outstanding environmental achievements.

The City presented the awards at the Museum at Campbell River’s annual Haig-Brown Festival. The Haig-Brown Festival celebrates World Rivers Day and the environmental and social causes championed by the Haig-Brown family, including conservation, fly-fishing, arts and literature, and social issues.

As of 2024, the City no longer administers the Stewardship Awards Program. We commend all the City of Campbell River Stewardship Awards recipients and Campbell River’s other environmental champions for their contributions to the community. Their efforts to conserve and restore Campbell River’s natural spaces and environment will have lasting impacts.
