WATERING RESTRICTIONS IN EFFECT MAY 1 TO SEPTEMBER 30

During late spring and summer, Campbell River has two distinct periods throughout the day where water demand can surpass the production limit of our water distribution and disinfection facilities.

Watering restrictions allow for more consistent water usage and decrease probability of surpassing the production limit.

The watering restrictions bylaw is a first step to water conservation. There are many other ways to improve water efficiency outdoors.

Residential Lawn Watering/Irrigation Schedule

Watering Restrictions (during Stage 1)

Residential watering is permitted from 5 to 9 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

  • Even-numbered address: Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Odd-numbered address:  Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

Non-residential watering is permitted 1 a.m. to 8 a.m.

  • Odd-numbered address:  Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Properties are considered non-residential if watering of common areas is controlled by a central system or strata and not the individual units or residents.

Watering gardens, trees, shrubs, and community gardens by hand or with a spring-loaded type nozzle with automatic shut-off connected to hose is allowed at any time during the day in all watering restriction stages.
