    Fire safety self-inspection information for local businesses

    Guides now available to improve fire safety

    With a recent increase in commercial property fires and the challenges of conducting fire inspections with COVID 19 safety protocols, the Campbell River Fire Department has developed a self-inspection program to improve safety for residents and businesses.

    “We’re still conducting inspections, and this new tool will help people prepare their properties to be safe from fire,” says fire chief Thomas Doherty. “We’re introducing this program to enhance fire and life safety and to help people be proactive and better prepared to be in compliance with fire safety requirements when their scheduled fire inspection occurs. “

    The self-inspection guides include step by step checklists for fire safety code requirements as well as important fire safety information for each occupancy type and requirements to comply with the BC Fire Code. Read more...
