The primary purpose for the issuance of a Building Permit is to ensure that all buildings comply with the safety, health, building and zoning requirements of the City of Campbell River and the Province of British Columbia. The City of Campbell River has prepared packages to assist in understanding the City's Building Permit and Inspection Process. The documents are for general guidance and do not replace bylaws or other legal documents.

If you are intending to construction a Multi-Family Residential building please review the following application package and form.

Downtown Revitalization Tax Exemption Bylaw

The City of Campbell River has a Downtown Revitalization Tax Exemption Bylaw  that is intended to promote revitalization of specified areas in the downtown core by providing a tax break for new construction or redevelopment of existing buildings.

Any renovation or new construction of multi-family projects within the defined areas are eligible for some portion of tax exemption from the municipal portion of taxes. Please refer to the bylaw for the specific area and for more details or talk with the staff in Development Services
