The park runs from Joanne Drive to the corner of Hilchey and Dogwood Roads and links the Penfield neighbourhood with the Beaver Lodge Forest Lands and the Dogwood Bike Path. It has a paved path running the length of the park, improved landscaping, irrigated lawn areas and park benches. The east end of the park features a children’s playground and the west end of the park features Campbell River’s first fully-fenced, dog off leash area.
If you plan to visit the dog park with your furry friend please note that dogs must be vaccinated and licenced, older than 4 months, friendly and social. Owners must keep their dogs in sight, under voice control, and scoop the poop for deposit into the garbage cans provided.
The development of Penfield West Linear Park was made possible by a grant from LocalMotion, Parks Parcel Tax funds and Parks DCC’s. Many thanks to local residents who got involved in the public process for designing the park and who waited patiently for the construction fencing to come down while the landscaping became established.
