The City of Campbell River is inviting only the General Contractors who pre-qualified for “Pre-Qual 16-52 City of Campbell River Water Treatment Building General Contractors & Major Sub-Contractors” for a Stipulated Price Contract (CCDC2, 2008) for the construction of a new Water Treatment Building at John Hart Lake in Campbell River, BC. Work of this Contract involves work within BC Hydro property adjacent to John Hart Lake, as well as the work required to tie into the existing system at John Hart Water Quality Centre (JHWQC) on Highway 28. The work of this contract involves the following components:

1. Rock and common excavation, concrete foundations and slabs, reinforcing steel, structural steel, exterior and interior finishes, building mechanical and electrical systems for a water treatment facility.

2. Mechanical process preparing, pumping equipment, ultra violet disinfection equipment, sodium hypochlorite generators (OSHG) equipment and associated valves, metering and control devices.

3. Assume responsibility for Owner Supplied systems including vertical turbine pump package, OSHG package and relocation of existing in use ultra violet disinfection reactor system.

4. Electrical installation including site servicing, back-up generator package, instrumentation and controls.

5. Civil Works including approximately 200m of 1,200/1,000mm dia welded steel watermain with associated fittings and valves to be connected to existing water transmission system. Site works including septage tank, storm drainage, roadworks, parking, landscaping and environmental features.

6. Testing, commissioning and switch over of City water supply to new treatment building.
