The waterfront sewer forcemain, built in 1972, is a critical piece of infrastructure that needs to be replaced to support new growth in the community. Work will begin in summer 2018, with the first portion at the southern entrance to the downtown. Further work will continue in 2020.
Getting Around During Construction
Paving on finished sections will be done intermittently to reduce the impact of gravel on the roadways. Watch social madia for notices of paving, which requires single-lane alternating traffic.
Through general construction, two-way traffic will largely be maintained. There may be temporary delays.
Where possible, try to re-route your travel away from construction zones.
- We encourage residents to support local businesses who will see changes to access and traffic flows.
- Roadside parking in the construction zone will be unavailable to accommodate two-lane traffic.
Watch here for traffic updates.
