The City has designated truck and dangerous goods routes, designed to ensure safety and minimize impacts in residential areas.

Truck Routes

Campbell River truck routes are created to keep trucks on major arterial roads, to minimize truck traffic in residential areas, and to ensure that the road structure can safely accommodate truck traffic. Truck routes are clearly marked.

All truck traffic and dangerous goods traffic is regulated under the “Traffic and Highways Regulation Bylaw.”  All vehicles with a licensed gross vehicle weight of 13,700 kg or greater, and all vehicles transporting dangerous goods are required by City Bylaw to remain on these designated routes with the following exceptions:

  • Delivering or receiving goods
  • Proceeding to or from a garage
  • Making successive deliveries and / or pickups in an area

For precise regulations, consult the Bylaw.

I still have questions.  Who can I contact?
