When is the last day to pay taxes without penalty?
TAXES ARE DUE JULY 4, 2011
Payments will be accepted without penalty if
- Delivered by 4:30 pm at the counter in the Finance Department
- Delivered by midnight through the mail slot next to the front doors at City Hall
- Dated July 4, 2011 or earlier through online banking (contact your bank)
- Postmarked July 4, 2011 or earlier by Canada Post or courier bill of lading
- Delivered to your financial institution and date stamped July 4, 2011 or earlier
What if I don’t pay?
After July 4, 2011, a 10% penalty will be imposed on all outstanding current tax balances. Penalties are also applied to any balance owing due to an unclaimed Home Owner Grant.
How can I pay?
Cash, cheques, money order, debit card, cheques post dated to July 4, 2011, or by online banking services (contact your bank to sign up).
Where can I pay?
At your financial institution or at City Hall (drop box available after hours).

What if I sold the property?
Return the notice to City Hall.
Can I check to see if my bank has paid my property taxes?
You can sign up with our new MyCity online service and add your tax account to your profile. All you need is a valid email address, a password, and your folio number and access code from your property tax notice. MyCity lets you view your transaction details, current balance, and status of your Home Owner Grant claim.
