Garbage, Recycling and Yard Waste

Weekly garbage, recycling and yard waste pickup are on the same day. Please refer to the 2012 Collection Map for the day of collection in your area or launch the Interactive City Map.

The City provides weekly yard waste collection for single and duplex homes for two months in the spring (April 2 - May 25) and two months in the fall (October 1 - November 23) to be collected on your regular garbage pickup day. Residents can also choose to take their yard waste to the Yard Waste Drop-Off Facility.

Please note: The basic weekly service is one 80 litre can (maximum 20kg/44lbs). Additional cans will be collected if a garbage tag is attached. Single use tags can be purchased for $2 at City Hall, the Sportsplex and the Community Centre.  For more information on collection guidelines, container sizes, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), maps and other important articles, click on links to the right.

Statutory Holidays

Garbage and recycling (and yard waste from April to November), is weekly on the same day including statutory holidays with the exception of Christmas Day and New Years Day when it will be collected the following day.

Multi-bin Drop Off Locations:

Residents can drop off recycling materials at the multi-bin locations operated by Comox Valley Regional District. Visit www.cswm.ca to find a location near you.

Campbell River Waste Management Centre (Landfill)

The Campbell River Waste Management Centre is administered by the Comox Valley Regional District. The Campbell River Waste Management Centre is open from 8:30am to 5:30pm, 7 days a week and is located on Argonaut Road, just off the Gold River Highway (Hwy 28). Landfill Map
