Here you will find information relating to all divisions, departments and services for the City of Campbell River. 

The Corporate and Protective Services Division is responsible for legislative functions, bylaw enforcement, risk management, property services and planning.

The Facilities and Supply Management Division is responsible for common services such as building maintenance, purchasing, fleet replacement. This division also leads Campbell River's Green City initiatives.

The Parks, Recreation and Culture Division is responsible for the city's parks, sports fields and open spaces as well as recreation and cultural infrastructure and programs.

The Financial Services Division leads the finance, financial planning and information technology functions and is the City's administrative liaison to Rivercorp, Campbell River's economic development corporation.

The Operations Division is responsible for public works, engineering, the airport and transit.  

All divisions as well as RCMP, fire department and human resources report to the City Manager.

Public Works

Working in consultation with Engineering Services and Materials Management, Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the City's transportation network, water distribution, sanitary sewer treatment, and parks facilities.

Fire Department
Campbell River Fire Rescue is a composite department made up of more than 80 members and in 2006 we responded to 1850 calls. This site contains a wide variety of information on the fire department including who we are, what services we offer and fire safety tips for you and your family.
Parks, Recreation & Culture

The Parks, Recreation & Culture Division provides a gateway to leisure opportunities and community services.  These services include providing a wide variety of programs and services in our facilities (Sportsplex, Community Centre, and Centennial Pool) and recreational activities in our Parks.  Whatever your leisure interests are, get involved and take advantage of our recreation facilities, programs and parks.

Planning and Development
Primarily application and regulation driven, the Department is responsible for review and processing of development applications including Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw amendments, development permits, variance applications and subdivision.  They are also responsible for the City's long range planning, such as the Official Community Plan and the Zoning Bylaw.
Information Services Department
The Information Services Department of the City of Campbell River is responsible for the electronic assets of the City.  This includes the network infrastructure, servers, workstations and laptops, GIS and Business Systems.   
Legislative Services
The office of the City Clerk provides administrative services to Council and its committees, to all City departments and to the citizens of Campbell River.
Bylaw and Property Services
Bylaw Enforcement includes Risk Management, Legal Claims, and Property Services
Materials Management
Materials Management is responsible for purchasing on behalf of all City departments, facility repair and maintenance, inventory management, and fleet management.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Department is responsible for a variety of services including employment, recruiting and staffing, compensation, labour relations, training, occupational health and safety, and the development of human resources policies.
Finance Department
The Financial Services Department manages the City's Financial Information System.
Campbell River Airport
The Campbell River Airport is located at the south end of the City.  Coming north from Courtenay, turn left at the Jubilee Parkway light.  There is a sign that says Campbell River Airport. 
Engineering Services

Engineering Services is responsible for all Long-Term Planning, Design, Capital Construction, and Record Information related to any and all infrastructure within the City's boundaries. 

 

Sustainability Department
Working under the Operations Division, the Sustainability Department works closely with all City Departments to coordinate the City's carbon neutral and Green City initiatives.
