Primarily application and regulation driven, the Department is responsible for review and processing of development applications including Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw amendments, development permits, variance applications and subdivision. They are also responsible for the City's long range planning, such as the Official Community Plan and the Zoning Bylaw.
The application process is laid out in Bylaw 3266, 2006 "Planning Procedures Bylaw NO. 3266, 2006 adopted December 11, 2006.
