Interactive Map Introduction

The City of Campbell River is pleased to bring you the Campbell River Interactive Map(s). This on-line experience features the City from a local mapping perspective, with Zoning, Parkland, Orthophotos and much more. City Map requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, Internet Explorer 5.5 or Netscape 6.0 or greater.  For Mac users City Map is completely supported using Netscape 7.1.  Cookies are used with City Map in order to save and restore maps and views of maps that you are looking at. Please make sure that they are enabled for this site.

The City of Campbell River began developing and using Geographical Information Systems (computer based mapping) in 2001 and updated our system to an enterprise-level ArcGIS server in 2008. This capacity allows the City to deliver all our geospatial data on-line. At present, we offer 23 different layers to the public. These include:

 ·        property information, including house numbering and parcel plans

 ·        zoning and zoning by-law descriptions

  ·        landmarks

   ·       utilities

   ·        parks and trails

   ·        garbage pick up

   ·        transportation routes

    ·        orthophotos and hillshade imagery

    ·        Official Community Plan.

Maps on the City Map site can be saved in a variety of formats and printed. NOTE: that when you are printing, if your pop-up blocker is NOT disabled, you will have to press CTL + click, (control key and mouse click) on the print map button. Specific sessions on the map service can be saved and revisited later. In addition, a new set of selection and buffering tools has been offered.

When you launch City Interactive Map(s)  you will be required to read the disclaimer and then select OK. Selecting Cancel will return you to the City of Campbell River Home Page. For help using City Map please select the help link once City Map has loaded. The help pages explain the use of all the tools available to you, and are available at the question mark on the upper right corner of the map. City Map is subject to many data updating processes and may be unavailable for short periods of time throughout the month.
